The Fraternal Order of Canyon Men has begun its annual scholarship drive. We hope you will contribute to this worthy cause.

We are a civic, non-profit organization located in Canyon Lake, TX. Our organization was founded in 1993 as a way to help members of the local community during times of hardship where no other means of help were forthcoming. Since then, we are proud to have raised over $90,000.00 toward helping individuals and families get their lives back on track. All this has been done with raffles, dances, and other fundraisers. Our operating expenses are minimal. Aside from a post office box and telephone bill, all funds received go back to the community; not one member has ever taken a single cent as payment!

Since the inception of our scholarship program in April of 2000, The Fraternal Order of Canyon Men have awarded 80 scholarships to Smithson Valley High School seniors. In a time when most organizations award only one or two scholarships per year, we are proud to have averaged nearly 12 per year! Many of these go to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue their dream of higher education. All were well deserved. In the past, Our scholarships have been funded by the sale of dance tickets, barbecue plates, and raffle items donated by local businesses. This year, we've set even loftier goals, and this is where we need your help.

Our scholarship committee conducts a complete review of all applications and forwards those most qualified for a membership vote. Many times, we have to leave several deserving candidates behind due to lack of funds.

Ticket sales to our dance generally raise enough to cover our costs plus provide one scholarship. Raffle and auction items generate the most funds. We would appreciate any contribution from your organization. We hope you will agree that your donation would do a tremendous amount of good by helping our youth on a path to a better future.
